JAW vs HEADACHE. IT’S THE NECK!?

Your jaw is 50% made of temporal bone (part of skull)

Your primary headache is predominantly originating from the neck.

The neck issue is related to how you position your head (skull) that is POSTURE.

So there is a link between the neck issue and jaw.

Anatomically the brain is the boss of your neck.

Neck pain can refer to your jaw but not vice versa.

It is the anatomical hierarchy.

So you improve your posture, that helps improve your neck and because 50% of your jaw is made up of the skull bone, it will also improve your jaw significantly.

Solution is
1 Check your average posture
2 Check your hump
3 Check ergonomics
4 Improve upper back strength
5 Improve upper back flexibility into extension

Other reasons for jaw pain and headaches are;
– clenching and grinding related to medications
– breathing patterns – nose v.s. mouth
– reflux
– habits
They are not all solvable by Physio and rehab but certainly things to look out for.
