Jaw, Breathing and Pain
Breathing slow and regular helps with the normal level of Co2 in your bloods.
Why is this important for Jaw pain?
It is because breathing fast and shallow will blow off CO2 from your bloods too much and it can make you want to breathe even faster and faster.
CO2 level in your bloods control how fast or slow or regular we breathe.
And lower CO2 level can make your pain nerve to become even more sensitive to pain, creating this vicious cycle of events.
So, try to take hold of your own breathing by slowing down your breath.
While acknowledging that you may feel pain or fear of pain or anxious, worry or stress, try and bring forth the idea that you are still in control and you choose your own emotions related to this current situation.
It is not easy but repeating and practicing this habit can help master it.
Happy Rehab!
Cheers.
